The Maryland Department of Health proposed COMAR 10.62 to the Natalie M. LaPrade Medical Cannabis Commission on October 28, 2016, to introduce a Maryland medical cannabis program for qualifying patients. This legislation initiated the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) to oversee the program, including enrolling qualified patients and credentialed providers, licensing cultivators, processors, and retailers, and monitoring ongoing compliance for stakeholders, as described in COMAR 10.62. The MMCC continues its mission “to provide a safe, effective, and consumer-friendly medical cannabis program for qualifying patients” (MMCC, About Us) through regular updates to meet the changing needs of the program.

As a registered Maryland Independent Testing Laboratory (ITL), Pinnacle CT is responsible for performing the rigorous and third-party testing required to ensure the potency and purity of Maryland medical cannabis products. We are committed to ensuring a safe supply of medical cannabis to registered Maryland patients, through accurately testing and transparently reporting our testing data. Our technical backgrounds in chemistry, microbiology, healthcare, and laboratory operations enable us to execute at an industry-leading level while utilizing the latest technology and ISO-accredited methodology.

Pinnacle CT received its initial ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for chemical and microbial testing by A2LA in 2019 and continues to expand our scope of accredited methodology annually.
