Mycotoxins

Certain fungi produce toxic metabolites called mycotoxins. These toxic metabolites may cause severe disease and even death in humans at high levels.

Many mycotoxins are carcinogenic, while simple exposure to others can result in kidney damage and immunosuppressive effects. Due to the potential serious health consequences of mycotoxin exposure, many states have imposed strict limitations on the presence and concentrations of mycotoxins allowable in medical and adult-use cannabis and cannabis products.

As such, US Cannalytics uses industry-leading liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) technology to determine mycotoxin levels in concentrations down to parts per billion (ppb).
